WHAT IS BETAWAY?

BETAWAY is a new generation Scada system collecting shop floor data from heterogeneous systems, machinery, sensors and other processing systems, to be used for process purposes or to be sent to higher MRP, MES systems as well as to the Cloud for data analysis.

BETAWAY is a dynamic gateway for acquiring, processing, sending and controlling data. Customised services can be configured through a simple graphical interface.

BETAWAY is a multi-platform software, which can be installed on different devices and operating systems, it is open to integration with other systems, and it is modular, scalable and multi-process, based on input and output interface abstraction and job transformation for data normalisation.

The intuitive graphical interface eases the set-up of receiving and sending data parameters and customised services for different needs. It is possible to manage complex data sources such as TCP or simple text files.

IMPLEMENTATION

BETAWAY can be used to manage product and process tracking as well as, in the IoT environment: to satisfy use cases aimed at increasing efficiency; reducing human error; for greater control, optimisation and monitoring of production and costs.

Whether on its own, or with other modules of the platform, BETAWAY is used to manage quality control operations or to provide real-time data for monitoring and operating plants as well as for alarm management.

BETAWAY is enhanced with artificial intelligence algorithms to support your smart manufacturing projects.

Strengths

Unstructured data

Data does not have to have a predefined and standardised structure in order to be processed by the BETAWAY system. This allows supporting a wide variety of data sets.

Different types of protocols

Industrial protocols are widely supported depending on the requirements or the need to read data from a robot or a text file.

Sending notifications and alerts

By configuring threshold limits, the system is able to send real-time notifications when processed data diverges from the pre-set standard.

Scalable architecture

If an infrastructure node is no longer active, the system to heat can automatically adapt to new conditions by reacting to the hardware infrastructure on which it relies.

Graphical output

The output is easily visualised through pie and bar charts and real-time line graphs based on HTML5 technology.

Dynamic configuration

The system can be configured on different types of devices (computers, tablets and smartphones) using the main browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.

ENGINEERED WITH THE BEST TECHNOLOGY

FRONTEND

The AngularJS framework, CSS3 and HTML5 were used for the frontend setup. The interface is responsive and therefore adapts to any type of device. Data displayed are updated in real time through the use of Socket.IO.

BACKEND

The server uses Node.js and relies on a non-relational database MongoDB in order to collect all the unstructured input data. BETAWAY uses the multi-processing features offered by Node.js Cluster and Redis, depending on the machine where BETAWAY is installed.

MODULES

The list of configurable modules includes the main industrial protocols such as: TCP, Modbus, MQTT, SIEMENS PLC, REST, DBConnector and many others.
